Engraving

Silver by Pat offers free monogramming/engraving with a variety of fonts to choose from!  For some items, we recommend engraving only a single initial, due to the size of the piece, although most items comfortably allow the engraving of three initials or a first name. We only engrave on one side of the jewelry unless otherwise stipulated.

When selecting initials for monogramming, "First" is for your first name, "Last" is for your last name and "Middle or Maiden" is for your middle or maiden name.  The most popular style of monogramming/engraving is called interlocking font, for which three initials are customarily chosen.  The order of the initials presented is "First", "Last", and "Middle or Maiden name."  When selecting just one initial it is acceptable to choose either the "First" or "Last" initial.

Shown below are different styles of fonts available at Silver by Pat and examples of the engraving.  Please contact us at info@silverbypat.com for any questions that you may have concerning monogramming or engraving your jewelry.

INTERLOCKING FONT

Interlocking font is the most popular style of monogramming/engraving.  When selecting interlocking monogramming, list initials in the order of First, LAST, Middle or Maiden.  Example:  Mary Elizabeth Jones' monogram would be MJE and you would list the initials for engraving in this order.

MONOGRAM FONT

Monogram font is usually used when monogramming or engraving one or two initials.  We recommend the monogram font be selected when you have chosen a small piece of jewelry.  Engraving only one or two initials will allow the font to be seen more clearly.  It is acceptable to engrave either the first initial or last initial.
